Holly Barrett earned her Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in August of 2006. This 2,850 hour program (equivalent to over 4 academic years) consists of Biosciences, Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory & Technique, Practitioner Observation, Acupuncture Clinic, Chinese Herbal Clinic, and Chinese Herbal Medicine. This includes certification in Clean Needle Technique and Chinese Herbology. She employs acupuncture, along with electro acupuncture, moxibustion, tui na, acupressure, cupping, auriculotherapy (ear needling), while addressing the importance of proper nutrition, exercise and body work in order to achieve optimal health.
Holly is certified from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), as well as a licensed Diplomat of Acupuncture in the State of Colorado. In addition, Holly is a BioSET Certified Practicioner through the International BioSET institute in San Fransisco. She is also an American Council On Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer, and a Certified Massage Therapist through Massage Therapy Institute of Colorado. Holly's practice consists of using multiple modalities in any given session which consists of acupuncture, acupressure, oriental massage, herbal and nutritional therapies, biofeedback as well as lifestyle counseling and personal training. Her treatments are inclusive and individualized for each time you come in. Treatments can include stress reduction and breathing exercises, as well as guided imagery.
Holly's approach to assisting one in their journey to health is to help one to understand how exercise, food, stress, attitude, toxins, and environment can contribute to how our bodies function and feel. Holly's optimistic, calming, and well-balanced energy has helped her clients transform from "no hope" highly stressed and anxious to a " I can do it" calm, peaceful, clarity in their lives. She was recently awarded 2012 Best Personal Fitness Trainer by the City of Brighton, Colorado.
