Power up your immune system this cold and flu season. You should never be sick!

Often people ask me "what can I eat that will help me fight off colds and other Viral infections" So here are 3 vegetables that you don't want to ignore year around.

If you already read my "cold remedy" blog. Then the 1st vegetable shouldn't be a surprise to you.

The Onion is one vegetable that  not only is a cure for the common cold it is also a traditional cough remedy.  Vast uses of the Onion family makes this pungent little vegetable a must year around. The Onion is used not only for  lowering blood pressure  and Cholesterol. But also inhibits allergic reactions. The juice from the onion can help with insect bites and draw out swelling and pain. But make tea out of onion and you have a tea that will calm the brain and is like a general sedative.

Next is the The Radish.  Regular use of this little pungent yet sweet flavor vegetable will prevent viral infections such as the common cold and influenza. Plus due to its cooling nature, it's great for clearing the sinuses and also will help alleviate sore throats

Last but not least is The Turnip . Commonly used in the East and the West to treat various lung related imbalances, such as bronchial disorders like asthma and sinus problems. But  if your feeling down in energy, the Turnip is one to add to your favorite salad or just cut it up like a potato chip and snack on it through out the day .  When sliced raw, turnip is great for dispersing lung congestion. Also the Turnip greens are exceptionally rich in vitamin A .

Although these vegetables have other phenomenal  properties and uses. I just wanted to point out how they can help you during this cold and flu season.  Enjoy!
